Giving to Hope House

Hope House Houston is continuing the mission God has given us, but it’s taking a different form as we respond to how Covid-19 is impacting our community.

Thank you for taking this unique opportunity to love and serve our neighbors with us during this time!

This is how we are responding to Covid-19, TOGETHER:

  • We are staying connected to core families involved in Hope House to make sure they are aware of the various resources available to them, to make sure they have what they need physically, and to encourage them mentally and spiritually.
  • We are providing a growing list of websites/links at hopehousehouston.org/resources that will filter and organize the massive amounts of information Houstonians are receiving these days on Covid-19, providing this community with reliable, helpful, and relatable material during this crisis for them.
  • We are partnering with services and other non-profits to gauge and meet the needs of the overall community – some of our staff working with distribution sites that provided meals to thousands of Houston families.
  • We are looking to be a bridge between families and HISD’s H.O.M.E. program (their remote/online education response to school building closure).
  • We are continuing to meet with the kids in our programs remotely.
  • We are compiling activity/educational packets for the After School Students and other kids connected with Hope House so they have plenty to do at home that is engaging for their minds.
  • We are doing this safely for the sake of our staff and the community:
    • Following the city-guidelines and mandates on quarantining and social-distancing.
    • Following the city-guidelines and mandates while distributing food and supplies.
    • Practicing wisdom and safety as we work in limited capacities with families, pushing most of our interaction with them into the digital world.
