WHO WE ARE
OUR STORY
Hope House Houston has been serving at-risk children and their families in Kashmere Gardens since 2012.
We are a Christian non-profit seeking to provide positive experiences for children in the spiritual, educational, and social realms. Our goal is to walk with children from Kindergarten through the 12th grade, reinforcing the education that they receive in school, and supporting their families by providing the children a safe place to play, learn, and just be kids.
CORE VALUES
Christ-Centered: Everything that we do is for the glory of Jesus Christ and the expansion of His Kingdom.
Holistic: We serve the whole person and the whole family. Thus, our services and activities involve the every-day needs of the people and neighborhoods we serve.
Community-Based: The programs offered by Hope House meet the stated needs of the people living in communities we serve.
Community-Driven: As much as possible, we will empower people and businesses who live in or are based in the neighborhood to have a leadership role and benefit from the programs we run and/or partner with.
Bridging the Gap: We act as a bridge between the urban community and the suburban church of Houston. As such, we facilitate partnerships, rather than paternalistic relationships.
Collaboration: We partner with other organizations in seeing our mission and values become a reality.
Church Planting: We will promote and support the well-being of existing urban churches. We will also support and promote the birth of organic churches that meet the needs of unchurched people in the neighborhoods we serve.
Generational Ministry: Recognizing that urban problems are multi-generational, we will seek to meet, directly or indirectly, the multi-generational needs of people in the communities we serve.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, ultimately authoritative Word of God.
We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is Deity, that He was born of a virgin, that we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood, that He bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven, and that He will come again in power and great glory.
We believe that individuals are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer, enabling him or her to live a godly life of obedience as he or she reaches for maturity.
We believe the Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body, the church.
We believe that Jesus calls and empowers His followers to make disciples of all people. In doing so, and in following the mission that we believe God has given Outpost Fellowship, we are called to:
Serve the whole needs of the whole person (Matthew 25:36 – 40)
Partner with and empower individuals, families, and urban neighborhoods to move toward Christ-centered, self-sufficient; holistic well-being.
Partner with like-minded businesses, civic organizations, and government entities to serve these urban neighborhoods.
Address cyclical, generational poverty by serving all generations in the urban neighborhoods served.
